We recommend engineered flooring instead of solid wood because it is less susceptible to movement from heat. Engineered flooring is structural and can have as much of a wear layer as a solid timber floor. It can also be fixed using a more traditional method of secret nailing or glued to a suitable sub-floor. Engineered flooring, once laid, looks the same as a solid wood floor and yet results in a more stable flooring. We can offer a large range of engineered floorboards, from unfinished boards which can be finished to your requirements or pre-finished boards; these range from smooth sanded to stained to hand-rendered boards, smoked floorboards, carbonised floorboards and distressed finishes. The different finishes will give each floorboard its own individual character.
